I never told anyone...

This is a drawing I did after I heard a song by Florence and the Machine and was inspired by a children's book of games. I attempted a different drawing style, which has this nerdy/quirky feel to it. I really like the style , although it needs lots of work.

the little birdy

This is a drawing of a somewhat stylized bird I did in a sketchbook last year!
I did a series of random birds in different styles, this was of the first..

100 tales of change Part 2: the decagon

This is the second component of the 100 tales of change publication. The decagon is a ten side shape that represents a connection within the people that told their tale of change. The idea was for people to build up the decagon and connect various people through their common faults and things that they would like to change.
100 tales of change.. part 1

This is a publication project I completed at the end of my second year at Cput. The concept was to tell 100 tales of things that people would like to change. The entire publication consisted of a box and a book containing the people that I interviewed. A second part of the publication was to build up a decagon(ten-sided) box from the templates given.
dirty finger prints...

These are a couple of observational sketches I done at the beginning of the year for a drawing project. Eventually we had to design our own machine which was pretty challenging but fun at the same time!

The concept of this design tells of two characters named: Victor and Victoria. The background consists of pencils, hearts and bears rendered in a doodle style pattern design.

This little project was done for the birds. I've been seeing so many bird around me this summer so I decided to design a stylized bird and thereafter a pattern design with a similar colour palette.

This photograph was taken earlier this year.
I really like the strong contrast between black and white, its simply beautiful.
This is a photograph of a friend Leon Bester doing what he does best..

innocence of a child

The innocence of a child reflects infinite beauty...

One of our projects this year was to redesign the corporate identity of any business. Thus, a business card for Mama Africa restaurant situated in Long Street,Cape Town.

This is a little book I made together with the little illustrations that live inside the incomplete book. The common motif through out the book and each character is the geometric pattern.

This is a book of all the animal characters featured in the pre-flight safety instructions series of prints. The book is purely black and white as it was taken from the original prints.

This is two prints I done for a album cover project titled, "Pre- flight Safety Instructions".
The concept behind the prints was to take creatures that naturally have the inability to fly but with the

help of a cardboard box, naive imagination and hope the creatures find an amazing way of flying. These prints illustrate the creatures after their discovery of flight and plays with the idea of doing the impossible. I will be posting the rest of the prints soon!

This was a promotional item prototype, it serves as a collectable toy and a USB flash drive. This was a project that was completed during 1st year at Cput. I enjoy this project as it was the first project that focused on the entire process from Corporate Identity through to the promotional item for your choice of business. My fictional business manufactured and designed vinyl toys.

3D-bag

This was another project completed during my 1st year at CPUT. As our final project we had to produce a package that celebrated 'Converse Shoes'. I had selected the year 1978-1988 , thus the concept had stemmed from the band 'Blondie' and their musical success during the 70s and 80s. Since neon bright colours were popular during this period, I decided to incorporate these colours into my design. The concept of the tag was to reference the popularity of the cassette as a medium of listening to music.

3D prop

This was a project that was completed in my 1st year at CPUT,I completely enjoyed this project! The brief required us to produce movie props that related to the concept of a movie. The props had to be oversized and had to look as realistic as possible.
